This Staff Spotlight shines on Ashley Fields, who has built a remarkable 15+ year career journey here at Londonderry Village—one filled with growth, learning, and meaningful connections.

A Career Built on Care and Growth

Ashley first joined Londonderry Village in 2009 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Shahbaz while attending school full-time. Over the years, she continued to advance her education, earning both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees. In 2022, her dedication and leadership earned her a promotion to Green House Guide while also serving as Nursing Scheduler.

Through these roles, Ashley has supported and mentored the self-managed team of Shahbazim, coordinated special events for elders, and embraced every opportunity to bring joy to residents’ lives.

“I love watching the elders’ faces light up during events,” she shares. “We have a wonderful staff here at Londonderry Village.”

Education and Professional Development

Ashley is a Certified Nurse’s Aid with both undergraduate and graduate degrees in science. Beyond her formal education, she has completed specialized Green House Guide and administrative training through the Green House Project. She’s also attended the Center for Innovation (CFI) Conference, where she connected with a network of peers from across the country.

“I credit much of my success not just to my education, but also to the Shahbazim who mentored me and taught me the ways of the Green House model,” Ashley reflects.

Favorite Memories at Londonderry Village

With 15+ years of service, Ashley has collected countless meaningful moments. A favorite memory is bringing her newborn daughter—just five weeks old at the time—into the Green Houses. Elders took turns holding the baby for hours, their joy written on their faces. Now, years later, Ashley’s daughter visits the same residents, who proudly say, “I held you when you were a tiny baby!”

She also fondly remembers taking a group of elders to the Hershey Zoo, a trip made possible through the teamwork and support of her fellow Shahbazim.

Life Beyond Work

Outside of Londonderry Village, Ashley loves summers on the Chesapeake Bay, spending time boating near Annapolis. She enjoys playing competitive volleyball, shooting hoops in basketball, and relaxing at the beach. At home, she treasures time with her husband of 10 years and their spicy 4-year-old daughter, who keeps life lively and fun.

Looking Ahead

Ashley continues to set goals for herself, including completing the ServSafe Manager Exam and possibly pursuing a Doctorate degree in the future.

When asked what advice she would give to someone starting a career at Londonderry Village, she doesn’t hesitate:
